Downwell

Downwell is a minimalist roguelite about a young person plunging down a deep well in search of treasure, armed only with ‘Gunboots’ on their feet. Players shoot downward to attack enemies and slow their fall, descending through procedurally generated stages on a tight vertical screen. The striking three-color art style and fast, simple controls give it an arcade purity. Short runs and quick restarts make it endlessly replayable. Upgrades and shops between sections add light strategy. Descending carefully while managing limited ammo is the core challenge.
