The tower shifts with every attempt, and the clock never stops. Sprinting down through 350 storeys of traps, enemies, and hidden secrets, you’ll need to move fast and fight faster, because standing still only burns through the seconds you don’t have to spare.

Super House of Dead Ninjas is an action arcade game with roguelite elements from developer Megadev and publisher Bitmap Bureau. Playing as the fearsome Crimson Ninja, you’ll race against a 30 second timer as you descend floor after foe filled floor of a randomly generated tower, slicing through waves of enemies and bosses while collecting weapons, magic, and upgrades that push you further than your last attempt.

What Makes It Different?

  • Race against a constantly ticking timer as you descend a randomly generated tower
  • Fight through 230 custom rooms, with no two towers playing out the same way
  • Unlock dozens of weapons and item upgrades, including a flamethrower and baseball bat
  • Battle 8 terrifying bosses and 52 dastardly enemies, including an exploding mushroom
  • Build Rage by defeating enemies, then unleash it for greater damage and temporary invulnerability
  • Explore Transdimensional Leakage, a bizarre alternate tower with its own secrets
  • Design and share your own levels using the built in Map Editor

Every Second Counts

Super House of Dead Ninjas is built entirely around momentum. The 30 second timer is always running down, and while defeating enemies and finding power ups can buy you more time, there’s rarely a reason to slow down and take stock of your surroundings. Every floor you clear brings you closer to the next boss, and every second spent hesitating is a second you can’t get back. This constant pressure gives the game its arcade edge, turning each descent into a test of reflexes as much as strategy.

Filling your Rage meter by taking down enemies adds another layer to that pressure. Once it’s full, triggering Rage mode makes you temporarily invulnerable and far more dangerous, and defeating enemies while it’s active extends how long it lasts. Knowing when to cut loose and when to hold back becomes second nature the more towers you clear.

A Tower That’s Never the Same Twice

Ninja magic generates every tower randomly, drawing from 230 custom rooms to build a fresh layout each time you play. Weapons and item upgrades are scattered throughout, many of them unlocked by meeting specific criteria as you play, giving you new tools to experiment with on future runs. Clearing floors also unlocks new outfits and colour combinations for your ninja, with thousands of possible combinations to work through as you keep descending.

How Long Does a Run Take?

A typical run in Super House of Dead Ninjas usually lasts between 8 to 15 minutes. Because the game requires you to rush down a procedurally generated tower while managing a strict timer, a successful, fast paced descent to the final boss can even be completed in under 10 minutes.

Controller Support

Super House of Dead Ninjas features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers. Support for other devices is not known.

Good If You Like…

If you enjoyed Downwell, Rogue Legacy, Spelunky, and Dead Cells, Super House of Dead Ninjas offers another fast paced action roguelite where tight platforming, brutal reflex checks, and procedurally generated levels keep every descent feeling fresh.
