About

Who runs this site

AllRogues is an independent roguelike and roguelite community site founded and run by Steven Weber, a games journalist with more than eight years covering the industry and thousands of published articles across outlets including MMORPG.com, where he has served in both editorial and technical leadership roles. AllRogues exists because the roguelike genre, from traditional dungeon crawlers to the modern run-based explosion, deserves a home that covers it with the depth a general gaming site never will.

What we cover

News on releases, patches, and the studios behind them. Reviews built on real hours played, scored on our own rubric alongside critic and player scores so you can see all three next to each other. Guides written from runs we actually completed. A community with forums, live chat, and a game directory covering hundreds of roguelikes and roguelites, each entry describing what the game actually is rather than what its store page promises.

How our content gets made

AllRogues covers a genre where news breaks across hundreds of scattered sources: developer announcements, Steam updates, patch notes, and community channels. To keep up, we built in-house tools that monitor those sources around the clock and surface what matters, complete with source material and working notes. That is where the technology’s job ends and the editorial work begins: our editors decide what gets covered, verify the facts against the original sources, and write the articles. Every piece published on AllRogues reflects an editor’s selection, judgment, and writing. Reviews, features, guides, and opinion pieces are written by people, based on firsthand play and genuine perspective. If a story does not add something beyond its source material, it does not run.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Corrections are made directly in the affected article with a note describing the change. Spot an error? Tell us through the contact page and we will address it promptly.

Scores and independence

Review scores are assigned by the reviewer alone. Developers and publishers do not see reviews before publication and have no influence over scores. When a game key is provided by a developer, publisher, or PR agency, the review discloses it. Advertising, when present, is clearly separated from editorial content and has no bearing on coverage decisions.
