Nimbit Frontier
Somewhere beneath Star’s End lies the Underwild, a shifting dungeon full of hazards, rare fragments, and creatures called Mimocks just waiting to be tethered. Above ground, a cozier life is waiting too, one built around raising Nimbits, tending habitats, and getting to know the townsfolk who call this place home.
Nimbit Frontier is a cozy creature-collecting life sim from developer Megasploot, combining deep creature care with roguelite dungeon diving. Descending into the ever-changing Underwild to tether Mimocks and collect genetic fragments, then building custom habitats and forming bonds back in town, you’ll discover rare species, shape their traits, and decide when it’s finally time to release them into the world.
What Makes It Different?
- Explore the shifting Underwild, where hazards and Mimocks change with every dive
- Tether Mimocks in battle to collect genetic fragments for new species
- Build custom habitats that shape each Nimbit’s traits, mood, and growth
- Choose a League discipline to earn powerful pins, tools, and upgrades
- Release Nimbits to Sanctuaries for rare rewards and long-term world changes
- Discover rare species that only appear under specific weather or dungeon conditions
- Build friendships, and potentially romance, with the townsfolk of Star’s End
Care That Actually Changes Your Creatures
Nimbit Frontier treats creature care as more than a checklist. The habitats built for each Nimbit genuinely shape their traits, personalities, and survival skills, meaning how a creature is raised has a real impact on how it develops over time. Releasing Nimbits to Sanctuaries, rather than hoarding them forever, is framed as the actual goal, tying conservation directly into the game’s core loop rather than treating collection as an end point in itself.
A Dungeon That Feeds the Town, and Back Again
The Underwild dives are built to feel cozy and tactical rather than grindy or punishing, with tethering Mimocks and gathering fragments feeding directly into research and habitat design back home. That research then shapes what habitats can be built, which in turn influences the kinds of Nimbits that can be raised and eventually released, creating a loop where exploration, research, and conservation all reinforce one another.
How Long Does a Run Take?
The early access version offers about 20 hours of core gameplay. As the game is a roguelite with endless town management and creature-raising, players can easily extend this time by hundreds of hours depending on how they choose to build habitats and bond with their Nimbits.
The underground roguelite segments in the Underwild typically take around 15 to 30 minutes per run to collect resources, hatch fragments, and grab loot, while the daily town and care cycles covering management, farming, and social aspects run on a customizable clock so nothing feels rushed. A free demo is also available, offering about 2 hours of gameplay to experience a full creature care cycle before committing.
Controller Support
Nimbit Frontier features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers, DualShock Controllers over USB, and DualSense Controllers over USB.
Good If You Like…
If you enjoyed Montabi, Dave the Diver, or Cult of the Lamb, Nimbit Frontier’s mix of cozy creature care and roguelite dungeon diving should be well worth a look. Its focus on conservation and habitat-building gives it a genuinely gentler spin on the usual roguelite formula.
