Dragon Is Dead is a 2D dark-fantasy roguelite built around fast hack-and-slash combat and unlockable character classes. Across runs, players develop class skill trees, slot runes, and hunt for increasingly rare Legendary and Mythic loot through corrupted, monster-filled stages. Build variety comes from mixing class abilities with the gear and runes collected each run. Its grim aesthetic and gear-chasing loop place it firmly in the action-RPG end of the roguelite spectrum. Permanent unlocks gradually broaden the options available between attempts.
