The Slimeking has taken something precious, and now every last moustache belonging to your people sits somewhere at the top of his tower. Reaching him means fighting through floor after floor of sticky, slime coated danger, and there’s only one way to get those moustaches back.

The Slimeking’s Tower is a free to play action roguelike from developer RevampedPRO. Climbing through a procedurally generated tower that changes with every attempt, you’ll collect hundreds of items, unlock new characters with their own abilities and equipment, and battle through more than 100 enemies and bosses on your way to giving the Slimeking exactly what’s coming to him.

What Makes It Different?

  • Climb a procedurally generated tower that changes shape every time you play
  • Collect over 300 items that reshape how you approach each run
  • Unlock different characters, each with unique abilities and equipment
  • Choose between five distinct gamemodes to master
  • Prove yourself against 20 deadly challenges
  • Slay over 100 different enemies and bosses on your way to the top
  • Team up with a friend in shared or split screen co-op

A Tower That Never Repeats Itself

No two trips up the Slimeking’s Tower unfold the same way. Every floor is procedurally generated, meaning the layout, enemies, and items on offer are freshly shuffled each time you start climbing. The more than 300 items scattered throughout the tower do far more than pad out your inventory too, with many of them fundamentally changing how you move, fight, or approach a floor once picked up. Finding the right combination of items for a given run is often the difference between a quick trip back to the bottom and a genuine shot at reaching the top.

Pick a Character, Pick a Mode

Different characters bring different abilities and equipment into the tower, giving each run its own starting point before the items even come into play. On top of that, five separate gamemodes offer their own spin on the climb, whether that’s a standard run at the Slimeking himself or something built around a different set of rules entirely. Players looking for an extra gauntlet can also take on 20 deadly challenges, each designed to test a specific skill or strategy against the tower’s many threats.

How Long Does a Run Take?

A typical successful run in The Slimeking’s Tower lasts roughly 30 to 60 minutes. The game features procedurally generated floors and permadeath, so exact run time depends on how far you progress, your playstyle, whether that’s cautious exploration or rushing ahead, and the loadout you end up building.

A dedicated Speedrunner challenge mode pushes things further still, tasking players with beating the tower in 10 minutes or less. On the other end of the scale, tackling harder difficulties or the larger Adventure mode can stretch a single winning run to as long as 1.5 to 2 hours.

Controller Support

The Slimeking’s Tower features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers. Support for other devices is not known.

Good If You Like…

Super House of Dead Ninjas, Downwell, bit Dungeon, and Our Darker Purpose share a lot of DNA with what’s on offer here. The Slimeking’s Tower stands comfortably alongside them thanks to its ever shifting layouts, chaotic item builds, and addictive gameplay.
