Building the greatest regime in history starts with a handful of desperate survivors and ends wherever your ambition takes you. Enforce policy, mold citizens through fear or comfort, and personally lead troops into first-person battles that grow from desperate skirmishes into full mechanized war.

Pax Autocratica is a darkly satirical colony sim and FPS roguelite hybrid from developer Multiverse. Building a totalitarian state, sending citizens out to mine, research, and manufacture, and diving into roguelite FPS expeditions across the fractured Tyris System, you’ll grow a handful of survivors into a self-sustaining colony, one questionable decision at a time.

What Makes It Different?

  • Build and manage a totalitarian colony, from citizen roles to policy enforcement
  • Shape citizen loyalty through fear, propaganda, surveillance, or genuine comfort
  • Fight roguelite FPS battles that scale from skirmishes to mechanized warfare
  • Capture weakened enemies and decide their fate through indoctrination or conversion
  • Face elite enemies, bosses, and Sector Overlords in intense bullet hell combat
  • Collect Weapon Cores and Combination Cores to reshape your loadout each expedition
  • Assign citizens to mine, gather, research, and manufacture as the colony grows

Every Citizen Has a Purpose, and a Price

Running the colony means constantly balancing production against control. Citizens can be molded through fear, propaganda, surveillance, and punishment, or led with comfort and prosperity instead, and the path chosen shapes whether they grow grateful, loyal, afraid, or quietly rebellious. Assigning workers to mine, gather, haul, research, and manufacture keeps the colony’s machinery running, while captured enemies dragged back from the battlefield can be crushed, indoctrinated, or converted into new citizens entirely.

From Skirmish to Mechanized War

Combat expeditions into the Tyris System start small but escalate fast. Elite enemies, bosses, and Sector Overlords flood the battlefield with bullets, lasers, missiles, drones, and artillery, turning early skirmishes into genuine large-scale warfare involving infantry, tanks, and mechs. Roguelite cores collected during each expedition reshape how a run plays out, whether that means Weapon Cores altering gun handling, Combination Cores creating powerful synergies, or cores that strengthen the troops fighting alongside you, or turn them into expendable shields instead.

How Long Does a Run Take?

There’s no fixed average run time or final completion time for Pax Autocratica, since the hybrid colony sim and roguelite shooter is in Early Access and lacks a definitive end campaign. Individual combat and resource expeditions typically last anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes before returning to manage the base, with base management phases in between, covering colony needs, citizen happiness, and research, taking another 10 to 20 minutes per cycle.

Overall playtime for current early content ranges from 8 to 25 hours depending on playstyle, and total playtime is expected to grow as the game continues expanding with further sectors over its anticipated two-year development cycle.

Controller Support

Pax Autocratica features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers and PlayStation Controllers, and requires agreement to a third-party EULA.

Good If You Like…

If you enjoyed Monsters are Coming!, Starforged Legacy, or Super Fantasy Kingdom, Pax Autocratica’s combination of colony management and roguelite combat should be well worth digging into. Its darkly satirical totalitarian setting gives it a genuinely different edge from the usual base-building roguelite formula.
