Returning home from a hunting trip to find your lands in ruin, there’s no time to mourn what’s lost. Monsters emerge from the darkness every night, and rebuilding a home worth defending means working fast during the day and fighting harder once the sun goes down.
Super Fantasy Kingdom is a roguelite city builder from developer Super Fantasy Games. Harvesting, building, mining, cooking, and brewing by day, and defending your gates against hordes of monsters by night, you’ll recruit a growing team of defenders and carry forward hard-won progress into every new cycle, even after your city inevitably burns.
What Makes It Different?
- Rebuild a ruined kingdom while defending against nightly monster hordes
- Choose a different powerful guardian to lead your defenses each run
- Recruit from over 50 unique units to find winning combinations
- Manage randomized resource locations to fuel your kingdom’s growth
- Feed your heroes with food built from fishing huts, farms, and mills
- Explore the world to uncover heroes, resources, quests, and secrets
- Carry discoveries forward between cycles, unlocking new starting options
Build by Day, Survive the Night
Every cycle in Super Fantasy Kingdom splits neatly between construction and combat. Daylight hours are for gathering resources, expanding buildings, and preparing defenses, while night brings waves of monsters charging toward your gates, growing more vicious the longer they’re allowed to keep coming. Powerful bosses eventually test those defenses directly, and the only thing standing between your kingdom and total collapse is the collection of warriors, creatures, and magical beings recruited along the way.
Nothing Is Ever Really Lost
Falling to the darkness doesn’t erase what came before. Waking up to begin a new run means carrying forward the rewards of prior attempts, including more heroes at your disposal and previously explored lands already uncovered. With resource locations randomized each time and over 50 units waiting to be recruited, planning a fresh strategy around a different powerful guardian keeps every cycle feeling like a new puzzle worth solving.
How Long Does a Run Take?
An average run lasts anywhere from 30 minutes, if overwhelmed early, to about 1.5 hours for a successful run that makes it to the late game. Every standard run, often referred to as a cycle, lasts up to 28 in-game days, followed by a final Day X boss encounter.
Controller Support
Super Fantasy Kingdom features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers and PlayStation Controllers.
Good If You Like…
9 Kings and He is Coming both bring that same roguelite kingdom management energy to the table. Fogpiercer is also worth a look if Super Fantasy Kingdom’s blend of building and defense has you hooked.
