Deep within a forgotten jungle labyrinth, a Lasso is all that stands between you and vicious monsters. Patchlantis, once an ancient civilization, has been fully reclaimed by nature, and every night a powerful storm shuffles its patchwork terrain into something new, so no route stays safe for long.
Patch Quest is a genre-defying roguelite from developer Lychee Game Labs, combining roguelike, metroidvania, and monster-taming elements into a deceptively difficult bullet hell. Lassoing and mounting monsters to claim their skills, collecting plants and minerals to blend into powerful ammo, and unlocking shortcuts to push deeper into the maze, you’ll fight through a shuffling labyrinth that looks adorable and plays anything but, whether alone or with a friend beside you.
What Makes It Different?
- Lasso and mount any monster in the game to claim its skills as your own
- Collect more than 50 monster species, each with a unique set of abilities
- Explore a shuffling patchwork maze that feels fresh on every run
- Gather over 200 unique plants and minerals scattered across the island
- Blend ammo fruits into powerful ammo smoothies for devastating firepower
- Earn exploration gadgets that permanently expand your mechanics
- Unlock gates and shortcuts to reach deeper, more dangerous zones
Every Monster Is a New Move
Taming in Patch Quest goes well beyond simple collecting. Mounting a monster hands over its entire skill set, so a flying species can carry you across hazardous gaps, a swimming one opens up waterways, and a leaping one clears terrain that would otherwise be impassable, all while still packing a serious punch in combat. With more than 50 species to find, each carrying its own abilities, deciding which monster to bring along often shapes which parts of the island a run can reach. Those creatures can also be leveled up and kept as pets back at base, giving the collection a lasting sense of progress between attempts.
A Maze That Reshuffles Itself
Patchlantis is no static map. Its patchwork terrain gets shuffled each night by a storm, so familiar routes are never guaranteed, and a defeat sends you straight back to base camp. That reset is softened by a steady stream of permanent progress, though, with exploration gadgets that expand your mechanics for good, shortcuts that open up as gates are unlocked, and countless powerups earned along the way. Gathering plants, minerals, and fruits across the island feeds directly into that loop, and mixing ammo fruits into smoothies adds a crafting layer on top of the bullet hell action. It’s a cute, colorful package wrapped around a genuinely tough challenge, and getting good is the only real way forward.
How Long Does a Run Take?
An average run lasts about 30 to 60 minutes, though individual runs vary depending on exploration, skill level, and how far you push into the map before dying or heading back to base. Looking at overall game length according to community data, the main story takes 12 to 13 hours, main story plus side content runs 28 to 30.5 hours, and a full 100% completionist playthrough takes 51.5 to 56.9 hours.
Controller Support
Patch Quest features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers, and requires agreement to a third-party EULA. Support for other devices is not known.
Good If You Like…
If you enjoyed Dinotica, Cult of the Lamb, or Revita, Patch Quest’s mix of creature taming and fast, bullet-heavy roguelite action should be well worth a look.
