By day, the mysterious Blue Hole hides secrets, treasures, and no shortage of danger beneath its ever-changing depths. By night, a sushi restaurant needs running, and the fish you bring back are about to become someone’s dinner.
Dave the Diver is a casual adventure RPG and management hybrid from developer MINTROCKET. Diving into the Blue Hole with a harpoon in hand, you’ll hunt down over 200 kinds of sea creatures, upgrade your gear with the resources and profits you bring back, and keep a thriving sushi restaurant running smoothly once the sun goes down.
What Makes It Different?
- Explore an ever-changing Blue Hole with rogue-like elements each time you dive
- Catch and collect from over 200 different sea creatures
- Upgrade and forge equipment using resources and restaurant profits
- Run a sushi restaurant by night, serving up the fish you’ve caught by day
- Meet eccentric, lovable characters in a lighthearted, joke filled story
- Take on minigames and side quests packed with variety
- Take in a stunning blend of pixel and 3D art across a real world inspired ocean setting
Every Dive Carries a Risk
Descending into the Blue Hole isn’t a simple stroll. Oxygen runs out, and running dry mid-dive means leaving behind whatever fish and items were collected along the way, giving every trip down a genuine sense of risk. Upgrading equipment before heading back in becomes essential the deeper the Blue Hole is explored, since the creatures and dangers lurking further down only get tougher the more secrets Dave uncovers.
From the Depths to the Dinner Table
Everything hauled up from the Blue Hole eventually finds its way onto a plate. Running the sushi restaurant at night means turning the day’s catch into dishes that keep customers happy and profits flowing, and those profits loop straight back into better gear for the next dive. It’s a satisfying cycle that keeps the two halves of the game constantly feeding into one another.
How Long Does a Run Take?
Dave the Diver is roughly 20 to 30 hours for the main story alone. A more standard playthrough that includes side quests and optional content typically runs 35 to 50 hours. Broken down further, the main story alone averages around 24 hours, main story plus extras comes in closer to 35 hours, and a full 100% completionist run can take 50 or more hours.
Controller Support
Dave the Diver features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers and PlayStation Controllers.
