The Voidbringers have unleashed meteors of corruption across a once-peaceful world, warping it into a land of ravenous horrors. Tracking down the source of this arcane blight means journeying through the Deadwoods, the Scorched Desert, and worse, with nothing but a fistful of Mana Dice and a deck full of spells standing between you and the darkness.

SpellRogue is a turn-based deckbuilding roguelike from developer Guidelight Games. Rerolling, duplicating, splitting, and enchanting Mana Dice to fuel powerful spells, you’ll draft from over 350 unique spells, adapt to enemies that actively disrupt your dice and magic, and battle through three acts on the way to confronting the Voidbringers themselves.

What Makes It Different?

  • Master dice manipulation by rerolling, duplicating, splitting, and enchanting Mana Dice
  • Draft from over 350 powerful spells, each with two possible upgrades
  • Face 75+ enemies that directly disrupt your spells and dice mid-battle
  • Collect from over 145 artifacts to shape and refine your build
  • Play as distinct Dice Slingers, each wielding their own elemental mastery
  • Push your limits with the Descent system for escalating difficulty
  • Take on ever-changing Daily Challenges alongside the 3-act main campaign

Every Roll Is a Decision

SpellRogue treats dice as something to be actively shaped, not just rolled and accepted. Rerolling a poor result, splitting a die into two smaller ones, or enchanting it with a special effect all turn a simple roll of Mana Dice into a genuine tactical choice. Enemies push back against that control too, whether that’s twisted mushrooms infecting spells with spreading debuffs, fiery elementals making spells dangerous to cast, or cursed Voidbringers dooming dice to roll poorly, forcing constant adaptation mid-fight.

Four Slingers, Four Ways to Fight

Choosing a Dice Slinger sets the tone for an entire run. Azar the Cinder Conjurer builds toward raging infernos, Hazel the Earthen Mage grows her Mana Dice to incredible strength, and Lapis the Azure Seer commands the tides with unyielding defenses and crashing waves of damage, each offering a distinct playstyle built around their own elemental mastery. With 350+ spells and 145+ artifacts to draft from, no two Slingers, or runs, ever feel quite the same.

How Long Does a Run Take?

The average run time for a full, successful playthrough is approximately 40 to 60 minutes. A standard successful run takes about 45 to 60 minutes when navigating all three acts and managing tactical dice placement carefully, while a failed or rushed run can end much earlier, often within 15 to 30 minutes. Highly experienced players who know the card and dice synergies well can clear a fast run in under 40 minutes, and community aggregate data shows a standard main story completion style averaging around 3.5 hours across multiple initial attempts.

Controller Support

SpellRogue features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers and PlayStation Controllers.

Good If You Like…

If you enjoyed Dicey Dungeons, Slay the Spire, or Roguebook, SpellRogue’s combination of deckbuilding and dice manipulation should be well worth a look.
