Somewhere deep within the Gungeon lies a gun powerful enough to kill the past itself, and every bullet-riddled floor between here and there exists purely to stop you from reaching it. Dodging, rolling, and shooting your way through room after room of increasingly absurd enemies is the only way down.

Enter the Gungeon is a bullet hell dungeon crawler roguelike from developer Dodge Roll. Fighting alongside a ragtag crew of adventurers, discovering hundreds of unique weapons and items, and rolling through relentless bullet patterns, you’ll descend deeper into the Gungeon in a co-op-friendly quest to shoot your own past.

What Makes It Different?

  • Dodge and weave through relentless, intricate bullet hell combat
  • Discover hundreds of unique guns and items, from the absurd to the devastating
  • Play as one of several distinct, gun-toting misfits, each seeking their own redemption
  • Explore an ever-changing dungeon that shifts with every new attempt
  • Team up in local co-op to tackle the Gungeon together
  • Uncover secret floors and hidden rooms packed with rare loot
  • Face down memorable, wildly creative boss fights guarding each chamber

Every Bullet Tells a Story

The Gungeon’s combat leans entirely on precision movement, with dodge rolling standing between survival and getting shredded by increasingly elaborate bullet patterns. Hundreds of weapons, many of them gleefully ridiculous, from guns that shoot smaller guns to ones built entirely around a running gag, mean no two loadouts ever feel quite the same. Finding a combination that clicks, then leaning into it as deep as the Gungeon allows, is where most of the fun comes from.

A Dungeon Built on Chaos and Charm

Beneath the chaos sits a surprising amount of heart, with each playable Gungeoneer chasing their own reason for wanting to erase a regret from their past. Procedurally generated floors keep exploration fresh across dozens of attempts, and secret rooms scattered throughout reward players willing to poke at every wall and torch along the way. Whether played solo or with a friend in local co-op, the Gungeon’s blend of dark humor and relentless bullet hell action rarely lets up.

How Long Does a Run Take?

The average individual run lasts about 30 to 45 minutes for a successful game. Short runs of 15 to 25 minutes are common if you die in the early chambers or play very quickly, while standard successful runs typically take 40 to 50 minutes to clear all main chambers and defeat the final boss. Longer runs of 60 minutes or more happen when exploring extra secret floors, using very slow weapons, or taking time to plan out a build.

Controller Support

Enter the Gungeon features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers. Support for other devices is not known.

Good If You Like…

If you enjoyed Downwell, Super House of Dead Ninjas, or Jackal, Enter the Gungeon’s mix of tight bullet hell combat and roguelike dungeon crawling should feel right at home. Its huge arsenal of weapons and dry sense of humor give it a personality all its own.
