Isle of Swaps
Critter cards have taken over the playground, and lunchtime just became the most important part of the school day. Dina’s got her starter deck, her binder, and a serious goal…To beat every kid in the yard and walk away with every Critter Card worth having.
Isle of Swaps is a creature-collector roguelike deckbuilder from developer Fuzz Force. Building energy with weaker Skill cards to unleash stronger ones, swapping duplicate Critters won in battle to refine a deck, and equipping passive Stickers for an extra edge, you’ll challenge classmate after classmate on the way to becoming Critter Champion of the Playground.
What Makes It Different?
- Swap cards won from defeated opponents directly into your deck, no draft required
- Build energy with Skill cards, then spend it on more powerful plays
- Balance a team around Critter types, since Skill cards only work with matching elements
- Watch out for Weaknesses and Resistances that can swing a fight fast
- Equip passive Stickers for bonuses, though rarer Critters limit how many you can use
- Collect cards into a permanent Master Binder that carries across runs
- Tackle 3 of 6 possible areas each run, in a different order every time
Trade Your Way to a Better Deck
Rather than picking one of three cards after a win, Isle of Swaps hands victory over as a straightforward trade. Beating an opponent means swapping with the cards they were using, and duplicates can be swapped as many times as needed with no real limit. That system makes building toward a specific strategy feel more like genuine playground trading than typical roguelike card drafting, and it’s clearly drawn from real childhood memories of exactly that.
No Two Challenges Play Out the Same
Every run pulls from 3 of 6 possible areas, and tackling them in a different order each time keeps things from ever feeling routine. Cards collected along the way get stored permanently in the Master Binder, letting players build custom Master Decks to take on the toughest fights in the Critter Championship once the core challenges are cleared.
How Long Does a Run Take?
An individual challenge run takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete. Each standard run requires battling through 3 acts, or challenge areas, out of 6 total overworld zones, facing roughly 24 total encounters or battles before reaching the end of a successful run. Individual card battles go by fast, since only up to 3 cards can be played per turn.
