Every few seconds you must choose which weapon to add to your growing arsenal — and with slots filling fast and vampires closing in from every direction, the wrong pick can collapse a build you have spent minutes assembling. Vampire Hunters, developed by Gamecraft Studios and released on October 30, 2024, is a first-person shooter that grafts the automatic, crowd-clearing structure of the Survivors genre onto a retro FPS frame. You move through steampunk-inflected levels while enemies spawn in escalating waves, and your only meaningful input between kills is deciding which firearm to stack next.
The stacking system is the game’s defining mechanism: players can accumulate up to fourteen weapons simultaneously, running everything from a revolver to a holy water hose, with each addition changing how projectiles fill the screen. Because all weapons fire continuously, the skill expression lives almost entirely in build composition rather than manual aiming. Each hunter character brings distinct passive abilities that interact differently with weapon combinations, creating varied incentive structures across runs. Upgrades layer on top during each session, pushing builds toward intentional or accidental synergies that can transform a modest loadout into screen-filling chaos.
The tone is deliberately unserious — enemies are vampires, demons, and assorted undead by the thousands, the soundtrack leans into electronic disco, and the game never asks you to take its lore seriously. That lightness is part of the design identity rather than a lack of ambition; the appeal is the spectacle of absurd firepower meeting absurd enemy density.
Gamecraft Studios continued developing the game after its October 2024 launch through a steady post-release cadence. Challenge runs arrived in spring 2025, adding structured optional modes on top of the standard runs. The team announced a free major content update for August 2025, and it shipped on August 14 of that year, followed by four hotfixes across August and September. By the one-year anniversary in October 2025 the update history reflected a game that had grown meaningfully beyond its launch state.
A new player’s first hour involves picking a hunter, watching the weapon count climb from one to several within minutes, dying to an enemy type they did not account for, and immediately starting over to try a different stack order.
