Gravity is the enemy in Pratfall, a cave-descent game from Quad Head where every step downward is a negotiation with fall damage, collapsing terrain, and the enthusiastic incompetence of your teammates. The premise is simple: a dog has fallen into a cave system beneath a construction site, and you have to go get it.

Each run descends through three procedurally generated biomes, so the layout of shafts, ledges, and hazards changes every attempt. Movement tools are the heart of the game: a pickaxe and drill let you carve new routes through destructible terrain, ziplines bridge crevasses, magic beans create improvised paths, and flares push back the darkness. Food items restore health from fall injuries. The environment is laced with traps and interactive objects that interact unpredictably with players and each other, so explosives in particular tend to cascade.

  • Online co-op scaled from solo up to 250 players, with the developers noting four as safe, eight as rough, and twelve as ambitious
  • Three procedurally generated biomes per run with fully destructible terrain
  • Proximity voice chat that scales naturally with group chaos
  • Items scattered and buried throughout the caves: food, ziplines, drills, bombs, and more
  • Cosmetics, full key remapping, and gamepad support
  • Mod support added post-launch

The multiplayer structure treats cooperation as optional and sabotage as a feature. Players can catch falling teammates, revive downed ones, feed them strange items, or throw bombs at them. The game supports all of these outcomes with equal enthusiasm, and the upper player counts are explicitly there for people who want to find out what happens at scale.

Pratfall released on April 20, 2026. The weeks immediately after saw several rapid hotfixes alongside a new game mode that arrived in beta before the end of April. May brought a further patch, new language support, and mod support at the 200,000 copies sold milestone. June delivered the named Gumballs & Glory update, a supporter pack addition, and a sustained run of numbered patches under the 1.2.0 branch, suggesting active network and balance work in the game’s first two months. The update cadence across that period indicates a small studio responding quickly to a larger-than-expected audience.

Anyone who finds that chaotic multiplayer games tend to collapse into unfunny griefing will want to read the room before buying, but players who like their co-op adventures messy, physical, and willing to laugh at themselves will find Pratfall unusually committed to that tone.
