Escaping should be simple once you’ve found the exit. The problem is getting a fragile crystal there in one piece while opening door after door, gathering scarce resources, and holding back creatures that become more dangerous the deeper you descend. Dungeon of the ENDLESS builds every run around that constant balancing act, asking you to think several steps ahead without ever letting the pressure disappear.

Every floor presents a new set of decisions. You’ll recruit heroes with different strengths, research new technologies, construct defensive modules, and decide which doors are worth opening as you search for the exit. The further you progress, the more important those choices become, turning small mistakes early on into much bigger problems later in the run.

What Makes It Different?

  • Protect a crystal while exploring procedurally generated floors
  • Recruit heroes with different abilities and roles
  • Build defensive modules to hold back enemy waves
  • Research new technologies throughout each run
  • Manage resources while deciding which doors to open
  • Progress through 12 increasingly challenging floors
  • Play solo or in cooperative multiplayer

Every Door Is a Gamble

Opening another door is the only way forward, but it’s also what keeps the dungeon alive. New rooms offer valuable resources, research opportunities, and a path toward the exit, yet they can just as easily unleash another wave of enemies that your defenses aren’t ready to handle.

That tension follows you through the entire journey. Every decision feels meaningful because you’re constantly weighing the potential reward against the risk of making the next floor even harder.

Building a Strong Defense Takes Planning

Success isn’t simply about assembling the strongest team. Deciding where to place defensive modules, how to spend your resources, and which technologies to prioritize gradually shapes how well your expedition holds together.

The best runs often come from adapting to what the dungeon provides rather than chasing a perfect strategy. Learning when to invest, when to conserve, and when to take a risk becomes just as satisfying as surviving the battles themselves.

A Long Journey Worth Taking

Making it to the later floors is a genuine achievement, and every successful expedition feels earned. Fortunately, progress is saved at the beginning of each floor, making it easy to tackle a longer adventure over multiple sessions instead of committing to several uninterrupted hours.

That flexibility suits the game’s slower, more thoughtful pace, giving you the freedom to plan your next move without feeling rushed.

How Long Does a Run Take?

A successful run in Dungeon of the ENDLESS typically lasts between 2 and 4 hours, as you work your way through 12 procedurally generated floors. Earlier attempts often end within 30 minutes to 1 hour, while cooperative play or a more methodical approach can extend a run beyond 4 hours. Progress is saved at the start of each floor, allowing you to continue a run later.

Controller Support

Dungeon of the ENDLESS offers partial controller support for Xbox controllers.

Good If You Like…

If you enjoyed Against the Storm, The Ember Guardian, Shortest Trip to Earth, and FTL: Faster Than Light, Dungeon of the ENDLESS offers a similarly rewarding mix of roguelike progression, resource management, and making difficult decisions under constant pressure.
