The Loopler Launches Today, and Going Around in Circles Has Never Felt So Fun and Productive

There’s a little slot car going around a track in The Loopler, and your job is to make every lap more ridiculous than the last. The roguelite deckbuilder from solo developer Mheep launches today, following a successful demo and months of feedback from players.

Published by Mheep and Zero Percent, you pick cards, place gates, collect charms, and build enough synergies to send your score and speed heading towards infinity. Your car handles the driving, you get to obsess over everything else.

One More Lap Couldn’t Hurt

A run starts with a car repeatedly making its way around a track, earning points as it goes. From there, you gradually start interfering. Cards let you build your run in different directions, with 50 available in the full game. Some increase multipliers, others trigger additional effects, and you can even start spawning ghost cars or rolling the dice in the hope of landing a jackpot.

Then there are gates. You have 30 of these to place directly onto the track, and where you put them matters. Each track has a limited number of gate slots, so getting them into the right order can turn a decent setup into a chain reaction where one effect triggers another and the numbers start getting considerably sillier.

Seventy passive Charms give you even more opportunities to mess with how everything works. The goal is to keep improving the whole machine until that innocent little slot car you started with is tearing around the track surrounded by effects, multipliers, and numbers that probably stopped being sensible several laps ago.

Nine Cars Are Ready to Go Around and Around and Around

There are nine cars to unlock and experiment with, each bringing its own identity and effects to a run. You’ll also have nine tracks to tackle, and each comes with a different layout that changes where gates can be placed and how you’ll need to put your build together. Five difficulty modes are available for each, giving you another reason to head back around once you think you’ve figured everything out.

Daily and weekly challenges add more specific goals to chase, with optional leaderboards available if watching your own numbers climb isn’t quite competitive enough. Then there’s Infinity. Build well enough, push the car far enough, and you can see just how long your collection of cards, gates, and Charms can keep the whole thing going.

Game Jam to Full Release in Just Over a Year

The Loopler has taken a pretty quick route to launch. Mheep originally created it for GMTK Game Jam 2025, where the tiny browser version challenged players to upgrade their car, place gates, and keep looping around the track. The response convinced Mheep there was enough there to turn it into something bigger.

Three months later, a Steam page appeared alongside plans for new car effects, more upgrades and gates, Charms, consumables, Endless mode, meta progression, and a complete visual overhaul. A free Steam demo followed in February 2026 and has since picked up more than 300 user reviews, with over 90% of them positive. Feedback from both that demo and a later playtest has continued shaping the full release right up to launch.

Now it’s finally time to see how far that original game jam idea can go. The Loopler launches on Steam today with nine cars, nine tracks, 50 cards, 30 gates, 70 Charms, challenges, leaderboards, and one little car with an awful lot of laps ahead of it. It turns out, going around in circles might actually get you somewhere after all.
