An adorable tadpole named Tapo is counting on you to save him before his first birthday. That’s the challenge waiting for players in the all new deckbuilder, FROGGLE.

If that name sounds familiar, it’s because we featured FROGGLE just last week in our list of the roguelites and roguelikes we’re most excited about right now.
FROGGLE wears its influences proudly. You can spot traces of Balatro, Slay the Spire, and Inscryption throughout its design, but it doesn’t feel interested in simply copying any of them. Instead, it takes ideas from each and wraps them in a much sillier, much greener package.
At the heart of the game is a sigil-based combat system built around creating increasingly ridiculous combinations. What starts as fairly straightforward turn-based battles can quickly spiral into the kind of runs where everything seems to stack on top of everything else. The result is exactly the sort of “one more run” chaos deckbuilder fans tend to love.
Players can choose between four heroes, Warrior, Tank, Mage, and Healer, each bringing their own approach to combat. There’s also a secret fifth character waiting to be unlocked for anyone determined enough to find them.
Outside of combat, FROGGLE mixes permanent progression with run-based upgrades. Gold earned during your adventures can be spent on long-term improvements, while experience gained during individual runs helps shape your build on the fly. To keep things unpredictable, every battle can also be influenced by a D20 roll, giving luck the occasional opportunity to completely derail your plans.
The game leans heavily into experimentation too. Ten different sigils can be combined in countless ways, and players who conquer Standard mode can unlock FROGGED UP, a harder difficulty that introduces hidden second stages and even tougher challenges.
It’s a strange idea, an adorable one, and potentially a very addictive one. If you’ve been looking for a deckbuilding roguelite that doesn’t take itself too seriously, FROGGLE might be worth hopping into.
