Last week, we saw a couple of newcomers shake up the chart. This week’s rankings have delivered another shake-up. One of last week’s biggest success stories has disappeared from the leaderboard altogether, another has managed to stick around despite slipping down the rankings, and a brand-new release has wasted no time climbing straight into the top five.
As always, the very top of the chart remains remarkably difficult to crack. Steam’s biggest rogue heavyweights continue to dominate proceedings, with the same familiar names occupying the top four positions. It’s further down the leaderboard where the real battle is taking place, as fresh releases fight to establish themselves while long-time favourites refuse to give up their places.
As always, these rankings are based on each game’s current position in SteamDB’s Roguelike chart, with non-rogue titles removed where appropriate. While they aren’t a measure of sales or review scores, they offer one of the clearest snapshots of which rogue games Steam players are flocking to right now. And after another eventful week, there’s plenty to unpack.
| Rank | Game | Current Players | 24-Hour Peak |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🥇 1 | The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth | 74,239 | 118,884 |
| 🥈 2 | Slay the Spire 2 | 55,150 | 103,158 |
| 🥉 3 | Don’t Starve Together | 37,110 | 61,681 |
| 4 | ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN | 13,828 | 32,396 |
| 5 | Sephiria | 12,808 | 24,720 |
| 6 | Brotato | 8,136 | 13,827 |
| 7 | Slay the Spire | 7,921 | 11,387 |
| 8 | How Many Dudes? | 5,771 | 9,818 |
| 9 | Guildrun Demo | 5,750 | 10,377 |
| 10 | Balatro | 5,725 | 9,831 |
Sephiria Announces Itself in Style

Having only recently launched its full 1.0 version, Sephiria has wasted no time climbing straight into fifth place on the rogue leaderboard, recording a 24-hour peak of 24,720 concurrent players. That’s enough to sit comfortably behind Steam’s established heavyweights, while immediately leapfrogging familiar names including Brotato, Slay the Spire and Balatro.
It’s another reminder of just how quickly a promising new release can capture players’ attention. Breaking into Steam’s top five rogue games is no easy feat, particularly with so many well-established titles continuing to dominate the genre. The real challenge, as always, will be whether Sephiria can maintain that momentum once the excitement of launch begins to wear off.
Guildrun Demo Proves Last Week Wasn’t a Fluke

Last week, the Guildrun demo surprised everyone by breaking into the top ten despite not even being a full release. One week later, it’s still here.
Although it has slipped a few places down the leaderboard, the demo continues to attract thousands of players, recording a 24-hour peak of 10,377 concurrent users. In a week that saw another launch steal the spotlight, simply remaining among Steam’s most-played rogue games is an impressive achievement in itself.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that Steam demos are no longer just marketing tools. They’re capable of building communities long before launch day arrives, and Guildrun continues to be one of the best recent examples of that.
Pass the Fear’s Momentum Comes to an Abrupt End

Not every launch can sustain its early momentum. After storming into fifth place last week, Pass the Fear has disappeared from the top ten entirely. Launch week often delivers a significant boost as curious players rush to see what a new release has to offer, but remaining on Steam’s most-played charts is an altogether different challenge.
Its departure also highlights just how competitive the genre has become. A single quiet week is often enough for another release to seize the opportunity, and this time that honour belongs to Sephiria.
The Heavyweights Still Aren’t Moving
While the middle of the leaderboard continues to change from week to week, the top of the chart remains remarkably stable.
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth comfortably holds onto first place once again, with Slay the Spire 2 continuing to occupy second and Don’t Starve Together remaining third. ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN also keeps its grip on fourth, meaning Steam’s top four rogue games haven’t changed despite another week of fresh releases.
That’s becoming the defining trend of these weekly charts. New games are proving they can break into the top ten, but dislodging the genre’s biggest names is proving to be an entirely different proposition.
Familiar Faces Continue to Hold On

Elsewhere, Brotato and the original Slay the Spire continue to demonstrate their staying power, remaining firmly inside the top ten despite a steady stream of new challengers arriving each week.
Balatro also manages to cling onto a place on the leaderboard. While it now occupies the final spot in this week’s adjusted rankings, simply remaining among Steam’s most-played rogue games is an achievement in a genre that’s becoming increasingly competitive.
Another notable addition is How Many Dudes?, which sneaks into the top ten this week after narrowly edging out several established competitors. Whether it can build on that momentum remains to be seen, but for now it’s another reminder that Steam’s rogue charts are becoming far less predictable than they were just a few weeks ago.
We’ll Be Back Next Week
If last week’s story was about exciting new arrivals, this week’s is about survival. Sephiria has made an immediate impression, Guildrun Demo has shown it has more staying power than many expected, while Pass the Fear has already learned just how difficult it is to remain among Steam’s most-played rogue games.
The question now is whether Sephiria can avoid the same fate. Launch week excitement doesn’t last forever, Steam players are never short of something new to try, and another surprise challenger is always waiting around the corner. We’ll be back next week to see whether Steam’s latest rogue success story can keep climbing, or whether the leaderboard has another twist in store.
