The action roguelike space has been starving for fresh mechanics lately. Most releases feel like incremental iterations on established formulas, which is why Arms of God‘s Early Access release today carries more weight than a typical launch. You’re looking at a title that’s been generating genuine buzz in the community, or at least enough curiosity to warrant attention.
Early demo feedback suggests the developers understand what makes the genre tick, and more importantly, it found a small but positive following over the past year. The consensus seems to be cautiously optimistic rather than hyperbolic, which honestly feels more trustworthy than the usual hype cycle.
Early Steam reviews are trending positive, which is a good sign for an Early Access title which is bound to excite the husband and wife team at Dark Jay Studio. If you’re still on the fence about the game, and the launch trailer doesn’t draw you in to take a chance on an Early Access launch, the team believes they’re only another 6 – 9 months out from a full release.
