Every spaceship needs power. HYPERWIRED just makes you work a little harder to keep it flowing. Launching today on Steam, the pixel-art shooter challenges players to stay connected as they battle through procedurally generated galaxies filled with enemies, upgrades, and increasingly chaotic encounters.
Scattered throughout each sector are power sockets that recharge your ship, but plugging in comes with its own set of problems. Your cable only stretches so far, meaning every fight becomes a balancing act between staying powered up and venturing just far enough into danger to clear another wave of enemies.
Thankfully, you’ve got plenty of firepower to work with. More than 250 bullet modifier combinations allow every run to develop its own personality, while over 40 permanent upgrades steadily unlock new possibilities as you push deeper into the galaxy. There’s also a rechargeable slow-motion ability for those moments when the screen fills with lasers and panic starts setting in.
You’ll also rescue stranded ships throughout your adventure, gradually assembling a fleet that joins you in battle. Add more than ten playable ships with their own unique characteristics, and there’s no shortage of builds to experiment with as each run unfolds.
HYPERWIRED feels like one of those games where a straightforward idea quickly snowballs into wonderfully hectic runs. Between the growing fleet, endless upgrade combinations, and that ever-present cable following you across the screen, there’s always something demanding your attention. It’s available now on Steam.
