Dimension Reign
Dimension Reign, developed by ScopeNext Inc, puts you in simultaneous command of two characters — twins Edge and Camilla — and builds its entire combat identity around that dual control. Every decision about card order and ability timing applies to both heroes at once, so the pressure of a crowded screen is doubled by the need to coordinate two distinct skill sets rather than one.
Runs proceed through a procedurally generated network of ruins branching toward a boss. At each fork, paths carry different risk profiles — some stack monster encounters and elite fights back to back, while others offer safer routes with thinner rewards. Gold, relics, cards, and Dimension Stones all drop differently depending on which road you take, and choosing the harder path is the primary way to accelerate a run’s power. Route selection is therefore as load-bearing as the combat itself.
Before setting out, players choose unlockable classes for each hero — combinations like Samurai Vampire, Shinigami Cleric, Kunoichi Witch, or Ninja Rogue — each with its own weapon type and ability set. During a run, cards drawn from a shared deck issue commands to both heroes; the break-chaining system rewards sequencing attacks so that enemies are staggered before they act, sometimes clearing entire waves without taking a hit. Enemy health and attack values are visible on screen, making each combat a short planning problem with visible information. Relics modify and extend synergies between the two heroes, and forcing a relic that clashes with the current class pair is a reliable way to lose.
- Simultaneous dual-hero control with class-specific ability cards
- Break-chaining system that can wipe screens of enemies before they attack
- Branching procedural map where riskier routes yield greater rewards
- Unlockable class combinations spanning four fantasy archetypes per hero
- Relic and Dimension Stone upgrade layer that compounds across a single run
Dimension Reign released on March 18, 2020, and maintained a steady update cadence through its early access period. Version numbers visible in the feed had already climbed into the eighties by mid-2021, with bi-weekly patches running through late 2021 and into early 2022. The pace held through April 2022, reaching version 97, before ScopeNext posted a notice in May 2022 announcing a temporary suspension of regular updates. Players who enjoy dissecting two-character synergies and treating map navigation as a resource decision rather than an afterthought will find the most traction here.
