Crypt of the NecroDancer is an award-winning hardcore roguelike that fuses dungeon-crawling with rhythm gameplay. Players must move and attack in time with an energetic soundtrack, turning combat into a kind of dance against enemies that also move to the beat. Mistiming actions breaks combos and endangers the run, making musical timing as important as tactics. The acclaimed Danny Baranowsky soundtrack is central, and players can even play to their own music library. Charming pixel art and a brutal difficulty curve made it a cult classic. It later inspired the official Zelda crossover Cadence of Hyrule.
