Bats, centaurs, and exploding eyeballs are just the start of it. Somewhere down in the dungeon, hordes of monsters wait around every ladder, grate, and chain, and the only way to survive is to run, jump, climb, and bleed your way through all of them.
Blood Dungeon is a feverish bullet heaven platformer from developer Messhof, the studio behind Nidhogg. Climbing across walls, ceilings, and watery depths, harvesting blood from over 100 enemy types, and unlocking one of nine playable bunkmates, you’ll fight through survival arenas packed with danger, chasing daily dungeons and global high scores along the way.

Movement Is the Whole Game
Standing and shooting isn’t really an option in Blood Dungeon. Ducking, weaving, and scrambling up ladders, across grates, and over chains is constant, and mastering the walls, ceilings, and even the water as genuine playable space is what keeps a run alive. Learning how each of the 100+ enemy types moves, whether they fly through walls, walk, stick, or bounce, turns every arena into a puzzle of positioning as much as raw combat.
Nine Bunkmates, Nine Ways to Move
Choosing between the game’s nine unlockable characters changes far more than just a weapon. Leggy spins climbable webs, Bug takes to the air, and a Skinja tears through dungeons at speed, each bringing their own movement perks into the mix alongside their weapon of choice. Experimenting with all nine gives Blood Dungeon a surprising amount of variety for a game built around such a tight, frantic core loop.
How Long Does a Run Take?
The average run length is around 10 minutes or less. Most completed rounds or successful survival runs cap out right around the 10-minute mark when the final boss appears, while early or unsuccessful attempts often end in under 10 minutes as players learn mechanics and unlock stats. There’s no endless mode here, since the game is designed around quick, high-intensity sessions rather than extended endless scaling.
Controller Support
Blood Dungeon features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers and PlayStation Controllers. The developers recommend playing this game with a controller.
Good If You Like…
If you enjoyed Vampire Survivors, Halls of Torment, or Ogre Chambers 2222, Blood Dungeon’s mix of platforming and bullet heaven combat should be well worth a look.
