Galactic Vault’s Latest Update Is Crawling With New Threats

The developer behind Galactic Vault shipped what it describes as its biggest update yet last week. The Infestation update, arrived roughly two months after the three-person team last overhauled the movement-shooter-roguelite, indicating a steady cadence of substantial content drops.

The update introduces a new infected biome filled with hazardous rooms and mutated enemies. Players gain access to an experimental weapon designed to weaponize the spreading infestation itself, turning environmental threats into offensive tools. A new boss joins the roster of Vault Captains and security forces already guarding the corporate vaults at the game’s core.

According to the developer, a new elemental system rounds out the mechanical additions, though specifics on how it integrates with the existing weapon-stacking synergy system remain sparse.

Galactic Vault already offered deep weapon customization through modular gun assembly, stackable upgrades, and unlockable characters paired with skill trees. The momentum-based movement layer, which lets players slide, dash, and sprint through hand-crafted vertical rooms, sets it apart from typical roguelikes. The Infestation update expands that foundation without overhauling the core loop.

The timing fits with a Steam sale, so if you’re weighing whether the game’s combination of movement-shooter pacing and roguelite progression holds up, now may offer the right time to test it.
