The Orb of Infinite Mystery is sealed somewhere in the depths, and greed alone is enough reason to go looking for it. Every step down means facing sword-swinging skeletons, fire-breathing dragons, and whatever else the dungeon throws in the way, with one wrong move standing between success and permanent death.

Delver is a first-person roguelike dungeon crawler from developer Priority Interrupt, drawing heavy inspiration from classics like Ultima Underworld and Rogue. Smashing pots and crates for loot, exploring a fully randomized dungeon, and fighting through increasingly dangerous monsters, you’ll push deeper in search of treasure and the Orb itself, knowing that death means starting from scratch.

What Makes It Different?

  • Explore a fully randomized, first-person dungeon every single run
  • Smash pots, crates, and furniture in search of hidden loot
  • Fight sword-swinging skeletons, fire-breathing dragons, and much more
  • Discover hundreds of items, weapons, and pieces of armor
  • Face permadeath, where a single mistake can end a run for good
  • Push toward the Orb of Infinite Mystery sealed deep below
  • Experience classic dungeon-crawling roots filtered through a modern roguelike lens

Old-School Dungeon Crawling, Reworked

Delver wears its influences openly, drawing from classic first-person dungeon crawlers while wrapping that foundation in a fully randomized, roguelike structure. Every pot smashed and every crate broken open might reveal something useful, and with permadeath sitting behind every decision, exploring carefully matters just as much as fighting well. The result feels like a throwback to an earlier era of PC gaming, built specifically for players who want that old-school tension back.

Nothing Down Here Wants You to Succeed

Whatever’s guarding the Orb of Infinite Mystery isn’t going down without a fight. Skeletons, dragons, and a wide cast of other monsters stand between the surface and the depths, and with hundreds of items and weapons scattered throughout randomized dungeons, finding the right gear at the right time often makes the difference between a successful descent and a run cut short.

How Long Does a Run Take?

A successful run takes about 40 minutes to 1 hour. A complete successful main run averages around 2 hours when factoring in learning the mechanics and careful exploration, while individual fast or experienced runs to reach the bottom and escape take roughly an hour.

Controller Support

Delver features Partial Controller Support for Xbox Controllers. Support for other devices is not known.

Good If You Like…

If you enjoyed Ziggurat, Our Darker Purpose, or Overture, Delver’s mix of first-person dungeon crawling and roguelike permadeath should be well worth a look.
