Hellcard
Dying alone is bad enough, but dying stuck in a time loop with total strangers is somehow worse. Trapped together in a cursed dungeon that resets over and over, the only way out is to fight through it as a team, card by card, floor by floor.
HELLCARD is a turn-based co-op card roguelike from developer Foreign Gnomes, built for up to 4 players. Combining cards into powerful combos, coordinating positioning with a party of strangers, and battling through a 12-level dungeon, you’ll need genuine teamwork to break free of a curse that keeps dragging everyone back to the start.
What Makes It Different?
- Team up with up to 4 players in turn-based, card-driven co-op combat
- Combine cards across the party to create devastating combos
- Choose from a roster of classes, each bringing a distinct playstyle
- Manage positioning and formation as a genuine tactical layer
- Battle unique enemy types that demand real coordination to overcome
- Push into Endless Mode once the base game’s 12 levels are cleared
- Experience faster-paced multiplayer, where simultaneous actions cut down on waiting
A Deckbuilder Built for Teamwork
Most card-based roguelikes are solitary affairs, but HELLCARD hands the whole experience over to a party. Cards played by one player can set up devastating follow-ups from another, and where each hero stands on the battlefield matters just as much as which card gets played next. Coordinating those combos with up to three other players turns HELLCARD’s combat into something far more chaotic, and far more rewarding, than a typical solo deckbuilder run.
Twelve Floors, Then Something More
Clearing the base game’s 12-level dungeon unlocks Endless Mode, giving experienced parties a reason to keep pushing long after the main story wraps up. Builds and strategies that worked fine on early floors get tested hard the deeper a run goes, and multiplayer’s simultaneous-action pacing keeps even long sessions moving briskly, since nobody’s stuck waiting around for their turn to come back around.
How Long Does a Run Take?
The average individual run length takes about 30 minutes to over an hour, and can reach 1.5 hours depending on play speed and how far a party makes it. A standard, successful full run through the base game’s 12 levels typically takes players about 90 to 100 minutes to complete. Many runs end early, around floors 5 or 6, as newer players learn the ropes, while some characters and builds lead to slower, more strategic gameplay or prolonged boss fights. Endless Mode runs can stretch for several hours depending on the chosen build and strategy, and co-op’s simultaneous actions cut down on waiting time considerably compared to solo play.
Controller Support
HELLCARD features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers, PlayStation Controllers, and the Steam Input API.
Good If You Like…
If you enjoyed Slay the Spire, Roguebook, or Griftlands, HELLCARD’s mix of deckbuilding and co-op teamwork should be well worth a look. It’s often described as bringing that Slay the Spire formula into genuinely chaotic multiplayer territory, which says a lot about what to expect.
