Dear candidate, congratulations on your new position as Manager of Hell. Overpopulation has become a serious problem down here, and it’s now your job to punish sinners, build hellish towers, and keep the rift between Hell and Earth firmly sealed.
Heretic’s Fork is a bullet heaven roguelike deckbuilder from developer 9FingerGames that blends tower defense with card-based strategy. Choosing a demon subordinate, constructing towers that deal Holy, Unholy, and Hellfire damage, and building strength through a deck-building system, you’ll defend the rift shift after shift, earning wages based on just how many sinners you manage to punish.
What Makes It Different?
- Punish sinners using a state-of-the-art deck-building tower system
- Choose a demon subordinate to help manage daily site operations
- Deal Holy, Unholy, and Hellfire damage through a variety of hellish towers
- Earn new cards for your deck by achieving strong results each shift
- Work across different departments, each representing its own circle of Hell
- Defend the rift between Hell and Earth from escaping heretics
- Enjoy a dark sense of humor woven through every corporate memo from management
Build Your Perfect Defense, One Shift at a Time
Every shift in Heretic’s Fork revolves around constructing the right combination of towers to hold back an endless flow of sinners. Cards representing Holy, Unholy, and Hellfire damage all bring different strengths to the fight, and earning stronger results on a given shift feeds directly back into the deck, unlocking new cards to build even more effective defenses on the next attempt. That constant cycle of performing well, earning rewards, and refining a deck keeps runs feeling like a genuine career climb through Hell’s management structure.
A Workplace With a Dark Sense of Humor
Beyond the tower defense and deckbuilding, Heretic’s Fork leans hard into its corporate satire, framing the entire experience as a new employee onboarding into Hell’s management team. Cooperating with different departments, each tied to its own circle of Hell, and collecting wages based on performance gives the whole loop a genuinely funny, if morbid, workplace flavor that sets it apart from more straightforward tower defense roguelikes.
How Long Does a Run Take?
An average run typically takes 30 to 45 minutes to complete. A successful standard run lasts about 30 to 45 minutes if you survive all waves and reach the end of the main session, while early defeat can end a run much faster, in 10 to 20 minutes, if you’re overwhelmed by sinners early on. Endless Mode can last for several hours per run, since this mode scales infinitely and continues until you’re finally defeated.
Controller Support
Heretic’s Fork features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers and PlayStation Controllers.
Good If You Like…
If you enjoyed Vampire Survivors, Slay the Spire, or Megaloot, Heretic’s Fork’s mix of bullet heaven combat and tower defense deckbuilding should be well worth a look. Its corporate-Hell setting gives it a genuinely funny twist on a familiar roguelike formula.
