Your peaceful country of Lantanas has been taken over by an egocentric billionaire, and he’s built a colosseum labyrinth at the base of the world’s largest Great Tree. Now, along with rivals from every corner of the globe, you’re expected to fight your way to the top and become the next monarch. The crowd wants a show, and the labyrinth never runs out of monsters willing to give them one.

Rogue Labyrinth is a top down action roguelite RPG from developer Tea Witch Games and publisher Freedom Games. Battling up the ranks of a procedurally generated labyrinth, you’ll wield over 100 unique abilities against dozens of hired monsters and 7 distinct rivals, all while building relationships with the friends and enemies you meet along the way. Every run through the labyrinth offers a fresh combination of powers, encounters, and choices.

What Makes It Different?

  • Battle through a procedurally generated labyrinth split into 4 distinct biomes
  • Choose from hundreds of different rooms shaped by the countries competing for the throne
  • Wield over 100 unique abilities, from thrown thornballs to spinning boomerangs
  • Turn nearly everything on the map into a projectile in a controlled bullet hell style of combat
  • Befriend or antagonize rivals, employees, and monsters to shape your abilities
  • Build fan fame by defeating enemies and earn rewards from a watching audience
  • Experience over 4,000 lines of dialogue across a story rich, character driven adventure

Turn the Whole Labyrinth Into a Weapon

Combat in Rogue Labyrinth revolves around projectiles, and almost anything can become one. Trees, rocks, enemies, and even other projectiles can all be knocked around the battlefield, giving fights a controlled bullet hell feel that rewards positioning as much as raw power. Bashing enemies with a branch, hurling thornballs, or borrowing a rival’s technique, whether that’s a pulsing pillar, a spiky bubble, or a spinning boomerang, all change how a room plays out, and stacking these tools together across a run gives every build its own identity.

Make Friends, Make Enemies, Make Progress

Between fights, the labyrinth’s cast of rivals, employees, and monsters, offer more than just a break from combat. Choosing to build friendships, learn a rival’s battle techniques, or even invite someone to dinner can open up new ways to strengthen your abilities heading into the next fight.

Benefactors betting on the outcome of the tournament add something a little extra to this too, offering boons that enhance your build in exchange for putting on a good show. Every choice made outside the labyrinth ends up shaping how you perform inside it.

Climb the Ranks in Front of a Crowd

The labyrinth isn’t just a maze of monsters, it’s a stage. Defeating enemies builds your fan fame meter, and a hyped crowd is more likely to reward you as you climb toward a higher rank. With 4 biomes worth of rooms shaped by the different countries competing for the throne, and 7 rivals each with their own motivations for being there, no two runs toward the top ever unfold quite the same way.

How Long Does a Run Take?

A typical winning run in Rogue Labyrinth lasts about 60 to 90 minutes. Shorter, unsuccessful runs or attempts on lower difficulties can take anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes, while reaching a top tier rank like S typically takes experienced players about 1.5 hours.

Playtime can fluctuate depending on a few factors. Progressing up the ranks adds more monsters and challenges, scaling the time required upward. Ranged and rebound projectile builds can clear rooms much faster than melee heavy strategies. Veteran action roguelite players can also breeze through content faster, though the 4 biome structure naturally extends the length of each run.

Controller Support

Rogue Labyrinth features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers and PlayStation Controllers. The developers recommend playing this game with a controller.

Good If You Like…

If you enjoyed Hades, Cult of the Lamb, Ravenswatch, and Have a Nice Death, Rogue Labyrinth offers another narrative driven action roguelite where memorable characters, evolving relationships, and procedurally generated combat give every trip through the labyrinth its own story to tell.
