You Can Test This Mega Man Battle Network-Inspired Roguelite Ghost in the Cloud on Steam Now

If you’ve been hunting for a deck-building roguelite that pulls from the tactical DNA of Mega Man Battle Network, Ghost in the Cloud is almost ready to let you inside the Net. The developer announced this week that every boss encounter except the final one is complete, with a playtest currently live and a full demo targeted for release later this year.

Ghost in the Cloud merges turn-based and real-time combat on a grid, asking you to strategize card placement between rounds before executing your moves against the clock. The game ships with 140+ unique battle cards, 40+ plugins, and 40 discoverable Ascension Chain combinations that let you fuse cards into more powerful variants. That synergistic deck-building layer is where the roguelite depth lives: you’ll hunt for combos across random drops as you fight through procedurally generated maps.

My Megaman Battle Network Inspired Roguelite’s Special Boss

Ghost in the Cloud is a hybrid action / turn based roguelite deck builder on a grid. I’ve been working on it for a few months and every boss except the final boss is done now. Hoping I can get a demo out this year, but a playtest is out now.

You can wishlist or try it out on [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4310010/Ghost_in_the_Cloud/).

The twist that sets it apart is avatars. You pick one of five characters to play as, and everyone else becomes a boss you’ll eventually face. Add a mysterious seventh opponent to that lineup, and you’re guaranteed variety across runs. Throw in 90 distinct bots populating the Net, and the promise of infinite variety holds water.

A playtest is available now on Steam, where you can also wishlist the full release. The developer shared their progress on Reddit this week, signaling momentum on what looks like a love letter for fans of Mega Man Battle Network.
