Tokyo Valkyries, a roguelite deckbuilder from developer and publisher qureate, launched on Steam on today, and is currently running an introductory discount that knocks 10 percent off the price. The offer runs through July 22.
Your goal is to build a deck to defend Tokyo from an Underworld invasion orchestrated by Belzebia, a dark spirit whose conquest already consumed Grand Earth, a world of swords and magic. The campaign follows Haruka Fuchi, a university student drawn into the Underworld after hearing a cry for help.
There she meets Artesia and learns the threat spreading toward her reality. Combat operates as turn-based card battles where each of the game’s characters draws power from one of four Attributes including Resolve, Courage, Hope, and Dawn. The system displays enemy actions before your turn, forcing you to choose between offense and defense based on what you predict will happen.
The roguelite structure lets players select their own path through the map as they progress toward a boss encounter, with deck construction remaining central to strategy throughout each run.
