Sephiria has only been out of Early Access for a few weeks, but TEAM HORAY certainly hasn’t stopped tinkering with it.
The newly released 1.0.30 update is mostly about fixing the smaller problems that have surfaced since launch, with changes covering everything from Steam Deck crashes and gamepad controls to Tablets, weapons, artifacts, and multiplayer. There are a few additions tucked in there too, including three new languages and some much-needed music for one of the game’s bosses.
It’s not a huge content drop, but for anyone currently making their way through the tower, there are several fixes here that could make a noticeable difference.
Steam Deck and Gamepad Players Get Some Important Fixes

One of the biggest changes is aimed at Steam Deck players. TEAM HORAY has improved an issue that could cause Sephiria to close in certain situations while playing on Valve’s handheld. The patch notes don’t go into detail about exactly what was triggering the crashes, but anything that improves stability is going to be welcome.
There’s also a particularly useful fix for anyone playing with a controller.
Previously, Dash could stop working if your auto-aim target overlapped with your character. Considering how important dodging and positioning become when the tower starts throwing increasingly ridiculous numbers of enemies at you, losing access to Dash at the wrong moment could easily ruin an otherwise promising run. That problem should now be fixed.
Tablets Should Behave Themselves Now
A few of the more frustrating bugs involved Tablets. Tablet Imprinting could previously make a Tablet disappear without actually applying its effect if the activation requirements weren’t met. That’s now been fixed following community feedback, so you shouldn’t lose something simply because the conditions weren’t right.
TEAM HORAY has also stopped Tablets that can’t normally be discarded from being used in the Tablet Combiner, while another fix makes sure Tablets are still awarded when changing costumes with a full inventory.
These might sound like relatively small changes, but Sephiria puts a lot of emphasis on arranging Artifacts and combining them with Tablets to shape your build. Anything that unexpectedly removes one or prevents you from receiving it can have a much bigger effect once you’re halfway through a run.
A Couple of Weapons Just Got Nicer to Use

The Frozen Bow and Flourish Staff have both received changes requested by players. Frozen Bow arrows can now travel through walls, opening up some considerably safer opportunities to hit enemies from the other side of obstacles. The Flourish Staff should also feel smoother, with holding the attack button during a Special Attack now allowing regular attacks to continue immediately once that animation finishes.
Pentaxis, the Guardian of the Library, finally gets dedicated background music too. Elsewhere, the Broken Sapphire’s visual effect will no longer appear over speech bubbles, and certain Solar Blade animations now correctly respond to the transparency option.
Three More Languages Join Sephiria
Update 1.0.30 also expands Sephiria to three more languages including Traditional Chinese, Italian, and Turkish. TEAM HORAY has improved some wording elsewhere and fixed an issue that caused certain Simplified Chinese characters to appear as boxes. Chat logs have received a fix too, with keywords now appearing correctly.
Multiplayer gets a much smaller adjustment, limiting lobby names to 64 characters, but it’s worth remembering that TEAM HORAY has already been tackling larger multiplayer issues since 1.0. Recent patches have addressed progression freezes, network disconnections, mismatched chapter progress, and several Chapter 6 problems.
Sephiria Is Still Being Fine-Tuned After 1.0
The continued support is probably the most important part of 1.0.30. Sephiria reached its full release on July 31 after 484 days in Early Access and 58 updates. TEAM HORAY said at the time that it would continue monitoring the game and fixing issues after launch, and the steady stream of patches since then suggests it meant it.
Update 1.0.30 might not give you another chapter to explore, but smoother controls, fewer crashes, more reliable Tablets, and several community-requested improvements should make the six already there a little nicer to fight through.
