Same Board, New Rules, No Mercy: Say Hello to Ludaro

The dice don’t decide anything anymore, not really. Ludaro takes the simplest board game you grew up with and hands you the tools to bend the rules until they break in your favor.

Ludaro is a dice-driven roguelike deckbuilder from developer and publisher EvolX Games, twisting classic Ludo into something built for utter mayhem. It’s currently listed for a 2026 release, with no exact date locked in and no player reviews to go on yet, so consider this one firmly in the “keep an eye on it” pile.

It’s Ludo, But Not As You Know It

The goal is to move around a board on dice rolls, collect points, and build up enough power to survive increasingly difficult challenges. What’s unique here however, is everything happening around that loop.

The board shifts, abilities change, even the rules bend as you go, and dice rolls become something you manipulate. Playing it safe, taking a calculated risk, or pushing your luck for a bigger reward, all stay on the table, and you’ll always know your options even when you can’t predict what’s coming next. That’s roguelike DNA through and through.

Then Come the Spirit Cards

This is where Ludaro really opens up. Over 250 Spirit Cards are up for grabs, each one built to reshape how a run plays out. Some double or triple your rolls, others alter the board itself, summon creatures, or stack passive effects on top of each other.

Upgrades that look modest on their own suddenly turn into something absurd once they’re combined with the right combo. Ludaro looks like it’s leaning hard into exactly that kind of escalation.

The Board Doesn’t Want You to Win

No roguelike worth its salt lets a winning strategy coast, and Ludaro doesn’t either. Dice rolls can get locked out, rewards can be cut in half, and the board itself can shift underneath you as a run goes on. Boss rounds pile on their own modifiers too, forcing a rethink instead of a repeat of whatever worked last time.

That’s the loop roguelikes live and die by… a strategy that feels brilliant for five minutes, torn apart, and rebuilt from scratch.

One to Keep an Eye On

There’s still plenty unknown here. Ludaro is awaiting its 2026 release with no player reviews yet on Steam, so there’s no telling how all these systems actually come together in practice.

The concept alone is doing a lot, though. A Ludo-inspired board fused with roguelike progression, dice manipulation, and deckbuilding isn’t a combination you see often, and with 250+ Spirit Cards, shifting rules, and the potential for genuinely broken combinations, Ludaro is shaping up to be one worth watching if you’re into games that let you build completely absurd strategies.
