Mexican Ninja officially launches tomorrow, August 20, but developer Madbricks and publisher Amber Studio aren’t planning on quietly sitting back and watching the Steam reviews roll in. Instead, they’re throwing a Discord launch party.
The team is inviting players to join them tomorrow at 4 PM CEST (10 AM ET / 7 AM PT) for a live Q&A with the developers, a chance to hang out with the Mexican Ninja community, and what they’re promising will be a suitably chaotic celebration of the game’s arrival.
Considering the sense of humor surrounding Mexican Ninja so far, we’re not expecting a particularly formal affair.
Meet the Team Behind the Mexican Ninja

The biggest reason to jump into the launch party is the opportunity to speak directly with the people behind the game.
Madbricks will be holding a live developer Q&A during the event, giving players the chance to ask questions as Mexican Ninja finally makes its way out into the world. Whether you want to know more about Nuevo Tokyo, the game’s wonderfully ridiculous Mexican Jutsus, its roguelike systems, or what could be coming next, this is your chance to go straight to the source.
It’s also a chance for the developers to celebrate alongside the community that has formed around Mexican Ninja before release.
The game has had a playable Steam demo available ahead of launch, giving players an early opportunity to fight their way through its Mexican-Japanese world and get familiar with the combat before the full game arrives. That demo is being removed on August 19 as the team prepares for release.
Nuevo Tokyo Opens Its Doors Tomorrow

Mexican Ninja is a 2.5D roguelike beat ’em up set in Nuevo Tokyo, a city born from a collision of Mexican and Japanese influences. Narcos and Yakuzas have joined forces to create the Narkuzas, and naturally, they’re not exactly using their newfound power for the good of the people.
Taking them down means mastering fast-paced combat, experimenting with different builds, earning the favor of Mexican-Japanese spirits, and unleashing Mexican Jutsus while working your way toward the five heads of the Narkuza clan. There’s even the Way of the Donkey, a skill tree that might have one of the best names we’ve encountered in a roguelike this year.
The full game launches August 20 on PC via Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
We’ll Be Joining the Fight Tomorrow
We’ll be keeping a close eye on Mexican Ninja as Nuevo Tokyo officially opens its doors tomorrow, with AllRogues covering the launch and everything that comes with it. We may even be making an appearance at the party.
We’ve also been lucky enough to get our hands on the game ahead of release, so we’ve already spent some time fighting the Narkuzas, experimenting with Mexican Jutsus, and seeing just how far the Way of the Donkey can take us. Our full review will be dropping shortly after launch, where we’ll dig into the combat, roguelike progression, and whether Mexican Ninja is as much fun as its brilliantly ridiculous premise suggests.
Until then, there’s a launch party to attend and a city full of Narkuzas waiting for a beating 🥊
