Furyball’s New Heavy Ball Hits Hard As Demo Passes 11K Wishlists

Sometimes subtle weapon upgrades change everything, and other times, developers add a giant ball that hits like a truck and shakes the entire screen when it lands.

That’s the approach the Rebound team has taken with the latest Furyball: Rogue Revenge update, introducing the Heavy Ball as a slower but significantly more destructive alternative to the standard projectile. While it sacrifices speed, the new weapon makes up for it with powerful impacts, extended hitstop effects, and enough screen shake to make every hit feel substantial.

The addition fits neatly into Furyball’s existing approach to customization. Set in the retrofuturistic city of Neo-Arcadia, the roguelite revolves around building increasingly ridiculous combinations of modules and upgrades across each run. Players can mix effects such as burn, bleed, and crush damage to create unique builds, encouraging experimentation rather than sticking to a single strategy.

The Heavy Ball expands those possibilities by adding another choice before the run even begins. Instead of simply deciding how to modify a weapon, players can now choose a projectile that fundamentally changes how combat feels, trading speed and precision for raw destructive power.

The update arrives during a particularly positive period for the game’s development. According to Rebound, Furyball: Rogue Revenge recently surpassed 11,000 Steam wishlists during Steam Next Fest, while the demo attracted more than 9,600 downloads and currently holds a 96% positive review rating on Steam.

The studio says it plans to continue refining the game through community feedback, using player impressions and testing to improve existing systems while introducing additional content throughout development.

If the Heavy Ball is any indication, Furyball’s growing player base may have plenty more reasons to keep an eye on Neo-Arcadia in the months ahead.
