Feywood Wanderers Lets Players Rethink Their Builds in New Update

Feywood Wanderers received version 1.0.8b with a tactical adjustment aimed at giving players more time to react when they take heavy hits. The update introduces a “warning freeze” that triggers whenever you receive damage higher than 30 percent of your maximum health in a single turn, briefly delaying your next turn to make it easier to respond to big enemy attacks. Both the length of the delay and the health threshold can be adjusted from the gameplay settings, letting you tune the feature to your playstyle.

As well as the defensive mechanic, the patch brings quality-of-life improvements to character progression. You can now respec your build by talking to the scarecrow in Lone Wolf mode, removing one more barrier to experimentation. The level-up menu also gained an option to display all unlocked classes by default, provided you’ve already found an orb for them. This streamlines the process of planning your character’s direction as you work through the patch notes.

The extraction roguelike has already carve out a niche for tactical, turn-based forest exploration, where you hunt for loot, abilities, and secrets while building custom characters from varied classes and equipment. If you’re after a roguelite that rewards careful planning in turn-based battles, this update should make the already flexible system even more forgiving of big swings in enemy damage output.
