Roguelike deckbuilders live and die by synergy, and when core items start vanishing mid-run, players need to know if they’re facing a bug or an intentional design choice. A player of Dice A Million recently reported that dice were disappearing when equipped with specific item combinations, sparking broader questions about how the game’s more exotic relics interact with player builds.
The issue surfaced on the roguelites subreddit, where a player running the bi-coloured hand with an electrical ring, an indestructible-enhanced die, and Pandora’s Box equipped with echo reported unexplained dice losses. The player’s asked is Pandora’s Box deliberately destroying dice as part of its effect, or is something broken?
Dice A Million is built on the premise of stacking synergies across more than 120 different dice and over 80 unique rings to push toward a million points. With that many interactive systems in play, unexpected behaviour can stem from either edge-case interactions or genuine bugs.
The question of whether Pandora’s Box is functioning as intended matters deeply to players trying to construct stable, high-value builds. An item destroying dice could be a legitimate feature meant to balance the box’s power, or it could be an unintended side effect of how its echo property interacts with indestructible mechanics. It turns out, it’s supposed to happen.#
This unexpected glitch as you play adds to the game’s unpredictability. If you haven’t played Dice a Million yet, head over to Steam and get yourself a copy in the summer sale.
