CyberSushi has spent quite a bit of time teasing its arrival on Steam, only for its release date to slip further down the calendar. After several delays, however, those little cybernetic sushi rolls are finally ready to make their debut, and they’ve got an entire multiverse to save.
Launching today, CyberSushi is a neon-soaked arcade roguelite from solo developer Ezza Games, featuring adorable sushi heroes racing through collapsing cyberpunk dimensions. You’ll dodge obstacles, collect tokens, build increasingly ridiculous combinations of upgrades, and try to escape before the world falls apart around you.
It’s been a longer wait than originally expected, but there’s much more going on here than a few pieces of sushi running for their lives.
One Little Sushi Roll, Sixteen Dimensions to Survive
The trouble begins with the Bento Gates, which once connected different worlds across the multiverse. Unfortunately, something called the first reset tore those connections apart, leaving entire dimensions trapped in a repeating cycle of destruction.
A guardian named Yume managed to preserve the Rice Cores, and now it’s up to a brave little sushi roll called Mochi to start putting things right.
Each run sends you racing through dangerous environments, collecting tokens to charge the next Bento Gate while avoiding whatever the collapsing dimension throws at you.
There are three distinct worlds to explore across 16 dimensions. Lost Horizons takes you through sunbaked canyons filled with missile drones and dangerous firewalls, while Neo City swaps the desert for rain-soaked streets, flying trucks, and traffic that apparently has no interest in following the rules.
Then there’s Subway Hackers, where laser grids, underground tunnels, and some rather questionable train schedules make getting home considerably more complicated.
Get Ready for a Little Arcade Chaos

Surviving each dimension is only part of the challenge. CyberSushi also encourages you to collect tokens, maintain streaks, and experiment with upgrades that can dramatically change how a run unfolds.
Sushi Surge rewards successful play with powerful bursts of arcade chaos, while Sushi Hacks offer additional ways to alter your abilities and improve your chances of survival. Between runs, you’ll be able to invest in upgrades and unlock additional characters, giving you more options for your next attempt.
While most of the obstacles are dangerous enough on their own, there’s one especially challenging problem waiting deeper into the multiverse. The Maw Engine is a ghost train that appears when a dimension is about to close. When it arrives, your Hackware shuts down, the tunnel starts collapsing, and you’ll need to reach the Bento Gate before the train catches you.
There’s More Than One Roll in This Bento Box

Mochi might be the first hero you control, but there are eight CyberSushi characters available at launch, each bringing a different perk to the adventure. You’ll unlock new characters through the Vendo, using Signal tickets earned by playing. The roster includes Kiki, a playful cat spirit, Taro, a particularly sturdy roll, and Tobi, a spiky little scout who enjoys taking risks.
There are also Wasabuddies, companions that accompany you on runs and provide useful bonuses. Some improve your scores or rewards, while others help maintain those valuable streaks. A special launch event introduces Daigo, an armored Guardian Roll available through an exclusive Rift running from October 13 through November 24.
CyberSushi Finally Launches Today
After multiple changes to its release schedule, CyberSushi is finally launching today on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Ezza Games has also released a free Steam demo for anyone wanting to try the game’s fast-paced arcade action before diving into the full experience.
With multiple characters, permanent upgrades, collectible companions, and all-time leaderboards to climb, there’s plenty here for players who enjoy chasing higher scores and squeezing one more run into their evening. After keeping players waiting through several missed release windows, CyberSushi is finally getting its moment.
Let’s just hope the launch date doesn’t have a reset button, too.
