Veewo Games’ action roguelite Neon Abyss 2 leaves Early Access today with its full 1.0 release, more than a year after first opening the Abyss in July 2025. The update completes the journey on PC while also bringing the sequel to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch for the first time. It also introduces four-player online co-op mode, letting you bring some help when your latest collection of items starts getting slightly out of hand.
There’s a new final boss waiting at the bottom too…Theia: God of Vanity. Are you ready to finish the fight?
The Abyss Has Changed Quite a Bit
The basic idea behind Neon Abyss 2 will be familiar to anyone who played the original. You head into procedurally generated levels, fight whatever you find down there, collect as many items as possible, and start combining their effects until your build bears very little resemblance to whatever you were carrying at the beginning.
There’s no limit on how many items you can stack either. The sequel expanded the weapons you can build around, letting you fight with more traditional firearms alongside melee weapons, deadly plants, and creatures that can do some of the attacking for you. Random items continue piling effects on top, so finding two things that work nicely together can quickly turn into finding ten things that make the screen difficult to understand.
Hatchmon have returned too. These companions hatch and evolve during runs, giving you another collection of abilities to bring into the increasingly busy fights happening around them.
Faith Gives You Something Else to Spend

One of the sequel’s bigger additions is the Faith System, which gives you another resource to think about while moving through the Abyss.
Faith can be spent in shops to grab useful items, used to recruit more Hatchmon, or gambled instead. That gives you another choice to make during a run depending on what the current build needs and how willing you are to risk what you’ve already collected.
The Soul Weapon and Fate systems add their own changes to runs too, joining the much larger collection of items and weapons that Veewo Games has continued expanding throughout Early Access.
You may start out planning around one weapon, find an item that changes what matters, hatch a useful companion, and end up several floors later with a build heading in a completely different direction. With up to four players involved, keeping track of whose build is responsible for what becomes another challenge entirely.
There’s One More God Waiting

The big addition for 1.0 is Theia: God of Vanity, a new final endgame boss and one of the Titans. She’s also the mother of Helios, Selene, and Eos, and her three-phase fight uses broken mirrors, gemstones, bright flashes, and attacks designed to make reaching the end of the Abyss considerably less straightforward.
There are some changes outside the base game today as well. Archenemy Returns, which brings back all 34 bosses from the original Neon Abyss with visual upgrades, skill changes, and reworked fights, has been free to Early Access players. Anyone who already claimed it gets to keep it, but it becomes paid DLC for new players with the arrival of 1.0.
After more than a year of Early Access, that makes today the point where Neon Abyss 2 finally becomes the complete sequel Veewo Games has been building towards. There are more weapons, more ways to build, four-player co-op, returning bosses, evolving Hatchmon, and now one final god standing at the end of it all.
Time to see if that ridiculous build can actually beat her.
