Absolum Arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 September 17 as Full Physical Release

The roguelite beat ’em up revolution is going next-gen. Absolum, the critically acclaimed side-scroller from Dotemu, Guard Crush Games, and Supamonks, will launch physically on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, 2026. Pre-orders are live now through Silver Lining Direct and participating retailers at $49.99.

This is the full game on cartridge, not a port compromise. Players will step into Talamh as one of four outcast heroes, each designed with distinct fighting styles. Galandra wields a colossal sword paired with necromantic magic. Karl, the last free dwarf, pairs a blunderbuss with bare-knuckle close-range dominance. Brome and Cider round out the roster, bringing wizard prowess and nimble skirmishing respectively. The goal remains the same: dismantle Sun King Azra’s Crimson Order and reclaim magic from his grasp.

The combat fuses arcade-speed kinetics with roguelite progression logic. You build synergies between power-ups across runs, chain combo sequences, and adapt tactically to unpredictable encounters. Each playthrough shifts, rewarding both raw skill and strategic decision-making.

Demand for physical Absolum releases has been explosive, according to the studio. Anyone eyeing the Switch 2 version should pre-order early. For collectors, the original PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch special editions remain available through Silver Lining Direct while stock lasts, each packed with metal pins, art booklets, posters, and trading cards.
