A Demigod, a Dying World, and a Lot of Monsters: Meet Thalia

Greek mythology has never exactly been known for producing stress-free family situations, but Thalia takes things a step further by making Zeus’s daughter responsible for fighting back against Chaos itself.

The upcoming roguelike recently reached a major milestone, with developer Dream Stories announcing that development is now complete ahead of an eventual release. The game casts players as Thalia, a demigod summoned to an ancient realm where death isn’t the end of the journey so much as an expected part of it. Every failed run feeds directly into your progression, allowing you to return stronger, unlock new abilities, and push deeper into the world on subsequent attempts.

Rather than treating death as a punishment, Thalia leans fully into the idea that growth comes from failure. Each run contributes toward permanent upgrades, creating an infinite progression system designed to keep players moving forward even when Chaos gets the better of them. It’s an approach that should feel familiar to roguelike veterans, though the emphasis on constant long-term progression may appeal to players who enjoy seeing tangible rewards from every run.

According to the Steam page, players will gradually unlock up to 16 spells and discover 30 relics that can dramatically alter how a build develops. Companion systems and combo-focused combat add another layer of customization, encouraging experimentation as new powers become available. While the finer details of how these systems interact remain under wraps, the game’s focus on synergies suggests that finding powerful combinations will be just as important as surviving the next encounter.

No launch date has been announced yet, but with development now finished, Thalia appears to be moving into the final stretch before players can take Zeus’s daughter into battle for themselves. We’ve been given exclusive access to the game here at AllRogues which we’re very excited about, so expect a full review coming shortly.
