Realm of Ink makes a strong first impression. Its hand-painted world, inspired by traditional Chinese ink wash art, gives every environment a distinctive look, but there’s far more here than beautiful scenery. Behind the artwork is a fast-paced action roguelite where every run encourages you to experiment with different weapons, Ink Gems, artifacts, and companions to create builds that rarely play out the same way twice.

You play as Red, a skilled swordswoman whose pursuit of the mysterious Fox Demon takes an unexpected turn when she discovers she’s living inside a story that can be rewritten. Along the way, you’ll unlock new abilities, discover powerful artifacts, and fight alongside Momo, an Ink Pet that evolves into different forms depending on the upgrades you choose.

With dozens of weapons and hundreds of artifacts to discover, every expedition offers another chance to approach combat from a completely different angle.

What Makes It Different?

  • A beautiful world inspired by traditional Chinese ink wash paintings
  • More than 20 weapons, over 40 Ink Gems, and 200+ artifacts to build around
  • Momo, an Ink Pet that evolves into more than 15 different forms throughout a run
  • Bosses and enemies inspired by Chinese folklore
  • Endless Challenge and Trial Valleys for players looking to push their builds even further
  • A story that breaks beyond the traditional hero’s journey as Red begins questioning the world around her

How It Plays

Every run begins with a fresh build and gradually evolves as new weapons, Ink Gems, and artifacts start coming together. Some combinations strengthen Red’s swordplay, while others focus on Momo’s evolving abilities or unlock entirely new ways to approach combat. The more you experiment, the more you’ll discover combinations that completely change how each run unfolds, giving you plenty of reasons to jump straight back in after every defeat.

Good If You Like…

If you enjoy Hades, Warm Snow, Ravenswatch, Curse of the Dead Gods, or action roguelites built around fast combat and experimenting with different builds, Realm of Ink is well worth your time.
