Deadlink rarely gives you a chance to catch your breath. One room may have you sliding beneath incoming fire before unloading a shotgun into a pack of security drones, while the next throws heavily armed mercenaries, automated defences, and elite enemies at you all at once. Every arena is designed to keep you moving, rewarding aggressive play and quick decision-making as you tear through a cyberpunk city using an expanding arsenal of devastating weapons and combat abilities.

You play as an elite operative remotely piloting combat shells for the Deadlink corporation, taking on missions against powerful megacorporations that control what’s left of the world. Although every shell is expendable, the upgrades, unlocks, and knowledge you gain between runs gradually open up new possibilities. Different combat frames, randomized upgrades, weapon combinations, and permanent research ensure each expedition develops in its own direction, encouraging you to constantly adapt rather than rely on the same strategy every time.

What Makes It Different?

  • Fast-paced first-person combat that rewards constant movement, aggression, and precise shooting
  • Multiple combat shells, each with their own abilities, weapons, and distinct playstyles
  • Randomized upgrades that dramatically change how each build develops during a run
  • Powerful active abilities and gadgets that can be combined with conventional weapons
  • Procedurally generated missions set across districts controlled by rival megacorporations
  • A cyberpunk world filled with unique enemy factions, elite encounters, and challenging bosses
  • Permanent upgrades and research projects that unlock new equipment and strengthen future runs
  • Multiple difficulty settings for players looking to push their builds even further

How It Plays

Each run sends you into a series of procedurally generated combat zones where clearing an arena unlocks the path to the next encounter. Enemies attack in large numbers and from multiple directions, making movement just as important as accuracy. Sliding, dashing, and staying on the offensive is often safer than remaining in cover, especially once arenas begin filling with explosive hazards, heavily armoured enemies, and powerful elite units.

Before each mission you’ll choose one of several combat shells, each bringing its own weapons, abilities, and strengths into battle. As a run progresses you’ll collect randomized upgrades that reshape how those abilities perform, allowing you to lean into different weapon combinations or amplify particular skills. A familiar shell can feel completely different depending on the upgrades you discover, making experimentation a core part of building stronger runs.

Progression Beyond Each Run

Returning from a failed mission doesn’t simply mean starting over. Research completed between expeditions unlocks new weapons, upgrades, and permanent improvements that expand the range of possible builds for future attempts. As you push deeper into the city you’ll face increasingly dangerous megacorporations, tougher enemies, and larger bosses, steadily uncovering more of the world while refining your approach with every new combat shell and upgrade combination. Whether you’re chasing higher difficulty levels or simply trying a completely different shell, there’s always another build waiting to be explored.

Good If You Like…

If you enjoy Roboquest, Steel Judgment, BPM: Bullets Per Minute, or first-person rogue games that combine lightning-fast movement with build crafting and satisfying gunplay, Deadlink delivers relentless combat that rewards both mechanical skill and creative experimentation.
