Hell Maiden takes Dante’s Divine Comedy in an unexpected direction. After escaping Hell and reaching Paradiso, Dante suddenly finds herself back where she started with no memory of how she returned. Climbing towards Heaven once again means battling through the Circles of Hell, rescuing legendary poets, and uncovering a mystery that reaches far beyond the original story.

Combat revolves around building a deck as you survive increasingly dangerous waves of enemies. Every new weapon and ability becomes another card to work with, encouraging you to think about how your deck fits together rather than simply picking the strongest upgrade available. As you rescue the Poets of Limbo and defeat powerful bosses, even more abilities become available, steadily opening new ways to approach each run.

What Makes It Different?

  • A roguelite inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, continuing the story beyond the original poem
  • Deckbuilding sits at the heart of every run, shaping how your abilities work together
  • Rescue the legendary Poets of Limbo to unlock five new abilities from each character
  • Defeat bosses to expand your deck with even more powerful options
  • Story progression continues between runs as Dante searches for answers
  • Two Circles of Hell available during Early Access, with more planned throughout development

How It Plays

Every run begins with a small deck, but it rarely stays that way for long. As new cards become available, you’ll decide which abilities work best together while adapting to increasingly difficult enemy waves. Building around clever combinations is often more rewarding than simply collecting the strongest cards, making every decision feel like part of a bigger strategy.

Since Hell Maiden is currently in Early Access, the journey through Hell is still expanding. Even so, there’s already a satisfying mix of deckbuilding, horde survival, and narrative progression, giving each expedition a little more purpose than simply surviving for as long as possible.

Good If You Like…

If you enjoy Death Must Die, Hades, Soulstone Survivors, Vampire Survivors, or roguelites that combine action with meaningful deckbuilding, Hell Maiden could be worth adding to your library.
