Developer dobert_dev has released TAKEDOWN 16, a high-speed vehicular action roguelite that draws inspiration from the Risk of Rain model and games like Roboquest and Vampire Survivors. The game features 16 distinct combat vehicles, each with unique handling profiles, primary armaments, and alternate skills, alongside an enormous catalog of stackable items designed to create infinite build synergies.

TAKEDOWN 16 casts you as a pilot escaping a corporate dystopia controlled by an omnipotent AI, where runs escalate rapidly from a basic chassis into screen-clearing devastation through carefully combined game-breaking artifacts. The game promises a nostalgic retro aesthetic by merging low-poly 3D models with crunchy pixel-art textures reminiscent of the PSX and N64 era.
Stages are handcrafted and the corporate AI scales its defensive forces limitlessly. An immense volume of unlockable upgrades guarantees players will eventually accumulate the destructive capability needed to break the system entirely. The developer has committed to free updates for all future content and explicitly states there will be no paid DLC or microtransactions.
According to its Steam listing, the game’s planned release is November 6th, 2026.
