Most roguelites ask you to learn from your mistakes. CORRUPT.EXE has a different idea. What if the game learned from them too?

The neon-soaked action roguelite launched into Steam Early Access today, putting players in the role of a rogue virus fighting to survive inside a hostile computer system. Standing in your way is an antivirus program that doesn’t simply throw bigger enemies at you with each run. Instead, it studies how you play, remembers your habits, and adapts its strategy over time, making every return trip into the system feel a little less predictable.
Outside of its evolving AI, CORRUPT.EXE packs in plenty of roguelite progression. Players can choose from five different virus strains, each with its own passive abilities, before experimenting with an arsenal of weapons that grow far beyond simple upgrades. Weapons can evolve into stronger forms before eventually combining into hundreds of unique fusion abilities, creating plenty of opportunities to discover powerful new builds.
The system isn’t exactly safe, either. Powerful defense programs appear every five minutes, while hidden bosses and optional endless mode offer even greater rewards for players willing to risk everything. There’s even a first-person detour through mysterious dimension rifts, adding an unexpected change of pace between the game’s frantic combat encounters.
It’s an ambitious mix of familiar roguelite progression and an adaptive AI that’s designed to keep players on their toes. Whether that ever-learning antivirus becomes the feature everyone talks about or simply another obstacle to overcome remains to be seen.
