Adorable Hero, Unusual Premise, and Tactical Gameplay – Slime is Looting Arrives on Steam

A new turn-based tactical roguelite called The Slime is Looting has landed on Steam, and its central premise is as straightforward as it is unusual. You play a rather cute slime and the goal is to defend your rock collection from adventurers who arrived with swords and entirely too much confidence.

The game casts you as a translucent blob whose inventory is quite literally your body. Weapons, armor, boots, shields, potions, and trinkets float inside you, each granting passive stats while you carry them. Your build and your loot are the same thing. Every item can be thrown at enemies or tactical tiles as a projectile, each throw dealing damage and potentially triggering status effects while consuming durability. The tension runs through every decision. Do you keep that shield for its defensive stats, or hurl it to finish the fight now?

Combat plays out on a tactical grid. Enemies telegraph their attacks before landing them, forcing you to move across the board to escape targeting zones, though some foes attack from range, use special abilities, or feint toward your new position. Between battles, you can digest unwanted items to heal and earn experience, forge stronger gear with merchants, or make what the store listing calls “increasingly disrespectful” choices in the forest.

The game promises procedurally generated routes through encounters, elite fights, treasure, shops, and bosses, with opportunities to combine item rarities, status effects, and build modifiers toward higher scores.
