Every run in Museum Mystery confines you to a single night: you are a museum security guard, and the exhibits have come alive before dawn. The game, released in early access on March 14, 2024 by ST Stepanov Ivan Andreevich and Recently Played, fuses deck-building combat with a narrative adventure built around uncovering why the chaos started.

Each run takes you through museum halls representing four historical eras, from Ancient Egypt up to the 19th century. The setting is not cosmetic — the era you explore shapes the enemies you face, since the animated artworks and awakened figures you encounter are drawn from those periods. Combat is card-based: you build a hand from over 150 cards representing ancient artifacts and historical practices, combining them to unlock mechanics and sharpen a strategy across the run. Relics add a second layer, granting effects powerful enough to redirect how a deck functions.

  • Four distinct historical eras, each with its own exhibits and enemies
  • Over 150 cards spanning ancient artifacts and historical practices
  • Relics that provide run-altering power bonuses
  • Side-quests and dialogue with historical figures woven into runs
  • A central mystery threading the narrative across sessions

The game is free to play. The narrative layer — talking to historical figures, completing side-quests, piecing together an overarching mystery — separates it from deck-builders where story is purely decorative. Players who want their card-game runs to carry a sense of investigation and period atmosphere will find that combination here.
