Hell on Earth Launches Free Alpha Ahead of Kickstarter Campaign

Hell on Earth, a dark fantasy action roguelite built for solo and co-op play, is now available as a free alpha on Steam while the developers run a parallel Kickstarter campaign to fund full production.

The game positions itself as a fast-paced alternative to slower roguelikes, packing 48 unique bosses across 12 levels into runs that emphasize constant combat and build variety. Players choose from multiple classes, each with exclusive spells and mechanics, then customize their hero’s appearance and skills as they fight through enemy swarms.

Gold, gems, and rare gear drop throughout each run, allowing you to slot gems into equipment mid-battle to unlock perk combinations and reshape your playstyle on the fly. Between combat encounters, you level up and choose from active spells, passives, or stat boosts, meaning no two runs need to feel identical.

The co-op angle matters here. Two players can team up online to combine class strategies and tackle the game’s hardest challenges together, a feature that remains relatively underserved in the roguelite space. Whether that cooperative depth will hold up across a full release remains to be tested, but the free alpha provides a concrete way for interested players to evaluate the premise themselves.
