Fright Train Is Smoothing Out The Ride With A New Demo Patch

Getting chased through a monster-infested train hurtling across Antarctica is stressful enough without your inventory refusing to cooperate.

That’s one of several frustrations Wild Arts Games has tackled in Fright Train’s latest demo update, with patch 0.3.4 focusing on smoothing out the experience ahead of the game’s full release. Controller players should now find inventory management working as intended, while a handful of combat tweaks aim to make every encounter feel a little more consistent.

The Marten weapon has been rebalanced so its rate of fire behaves reliably between play sessions, removing an inconsistency that could throw runs off balance. Enemies now also react with knockback when defeated by a kick, giving melee attacks a more satisfying impact, while clearer tooltips should make navigating the game’s systems that little bit easier.

Elsewhere, a couple of troublesome crates in Common Room 1 have been fixed, rounding out a patch that’s less about adding flashy new features and more about refining the foundations.

That’s encouraging for a game like Fright Train. Its blend of survival horror and roguelite progression relies on every decision feeling deliberate, from carefully managing your limited inventory to surviving another desperate fight aboard the doomed train. Updates like this may not grab the headlines, but they’re often the difference between a good demo and one players genuinely want to come back to.
